The CENTER's Persian Ministry has been serving for over 19 years, caring for the Persian speaking community throughout the greater Los Angeles County.
The church was planted by Reverand David Thomas in 1989 and originally known as the First Assembly of God Persian Congregation and the First Assembly of God Assyrian Congregation. As both fellowships grew, Reverand Joseph Nazanin PhD from the Assembly of God General Council in Tehran, Iran, and his family joined the church leadership in 1993 as the Senior Pastor. In May of 2005 after the passing of the beloved Rev. Joseph, his then Associate Pastor and son, Pastor Jonathan J. Nazanin succeeded him in leadership as the Senior Pastor.
We are a diverse church with members from many cultural backgrounds - Iranian, Armenian, Greek, Russian, Afghan and Assyrian are simply just a few to name. Committed to nurturing the spiritual growth of families, we take pride in having a wide range of ages in our congregation - all the way from infants through to 80+ years of age. We aim to meet the needs of all our members, with a variety of programs available for all ages.
